MASTERSTOP Bentonite expansion tapes are seals that swell in water. They consist of finely ground, highly swellable clay mineral (sodium bentonite), embedded as a binding agent in a matrix of non-vulcanized rubber.

Applications

Sealing construction and connection joints in concrete structures in groundwater areas are typical applications for the MASTERSTOP Bentonite expansion tape. Furthermore, all types of penetrations of the building structure in areas that need to be permanently sealed against water.

Installed in concrete construction joints, these profiles swell when they come into contact with water and thereby permanently seal the joint gap. Due to the high swelling pressure of the bentonite, the swelling mass also penetrates damaged areas and seals such leaks.

The swelling profiles are easy, quick and inexpensive to install and are also dispensable and permanently sealed - even under high water pressure! The dreaded errors and damage of conventional construction cannot even occur. Leaks due to leaks and poorly compacted concrete in the joint area no longer occur.
