The traffic sign 125 "oncoming traffic" alerts road users to a danger in road traffic
Outside built-up areas, the traffic sign 125 is placed approx. 150-250 m before the source of danger, within built-up areas, shortly before the source of danger
The sign is placed in places where a lane with traffic in one direction changes into a lane with oncoming traffic and this is not to be expected without further ado
The size of the sign to be selected depends on the maximum permitted speed at the place of installation
For permitted speeds up to 49 km/h, signs with a side length (SL) of 420 mm are sufficient, up to 100 km/h a SL of 900 mm and over 100 km/h a SL of 1260 mm
SL 900mm: for Sections with a maximum permissible speed between 21 and 80 km/h
complies with the StVO
Leg length: 630mm, 900mm, 1260mm (depending on the maximum permissible speed)
