TRAPEZ ribbed plate for the blind

Floor indicators as ribbed slabs for use in public traffic areas have a parallel trapezoidal cross-section
The surface structure must form a tactile and visual contrast to the neighbouring pavement
It must be clearly recognisable by blind and visually impaired people
Ribbed tiles are usually manufactured in the colours white no. 470 and anthracite no. 469 with surface coating
This achieves the highest possible contrast to the surrounding flooring (other colours are available on request)
At Knapp, the ribbed slabs are manufactured from single-layer (homogeneous) fibre concrete in accordance with DIN 18500 using the wet-cast process
They are available with a rib apex spacing of 20 to 60 mm and a rib width of 10 to 30 mm
The ribbed slabs are mainly available in thicknesses from 20 to 140 mm
In addition to the standard 30×30 cm format, other formats from 20×20 cm to 50×70 cm can also be produced
This means that the tactile guidance system for the blind can be optimally adapted to the existing base layer and the joint pattern of the adjacent pavement
